the main differences between the cylinder & upright
vacuums?
Go staight
to our Dyson
cylinder vacuum comparison chart.

Cylinder v upright range
With an upright, you push the vacuum around, but when you
use the Dyson cylinder vacuum, you drag the main part of the
vacuum behind you.
Dyson cylinder vacuums tend to be more compact, lightweight
and easier to store than Dyson upright vacuums altough with the
introduction of the DC24
Allfloors Dyson now have an upright that is small and
compact too.
An area where the cylinder range has an advantage is
cleaning the stairs. Dyson uprights can be heavy and awkward
when cleaning stairs whereas certain cylinder vacuums (such as
the DC23) are made with stair cleaning in mind.
Some buyers complain that upright dyson's cannot reach under
beds etc without taking the hose out. The cylinder range have
smaller heads to make cleaning under beds easy.
Certain vacuums in the cylinder range come with the flat out
floor tool. This attachment is thinner than the normal cylinder
head so makes cleaning under furniture even easier.
All upright vacuums have motorised brushes which come into
direct contact with the carpet. Most Dyson cylinder vacuums are
pirely suction driven. Two models in the cylinder range do have
motorised brush bars, the DC21 and the
DC23 Motorhead.
Certain dyson upright vacuums such as the DC14 have the
advantage of a larger bin capacity.

Dyson cylinder vacuum range
As with the upright range, the Dyson cylinder vacuum range
comes in a few different models.
You can choose from the following range:
-

Dyson DC19
-

the Dyson DC23 comes in the allergy model, the Animal model and
the motorhead model.
